Two Google Voice Number to Same Phone

Used to be a non-issue as one can designate the phone# as "landline" and linking the phone# to two GV accounts. This option is now gone, but it's still possible with some trick.

The most surprising part: reddit doesn't help much this time, and google support forum comes to the rescue. Keep it here for future reference.

Steps

  1. Before start, remove the (mobile) phone# from any linked GV.

  2. It must be done in separated login session instead of multi-login, so better do it in PC via incognito mode.

  3. Login first account, goto GV Settings

  4. Add the phone number, verify via phone call instead of sms.

  5. Log out first account or just close all incognito windows.

  6. Login second account in incognito mode and repeat.

As google voice has disabled SMS forwarding to phone -- for good security reasons -- there is no feature missing here. Simple and works great.
